Description
The Cape Cod garage door offers various material options, including 24- or 26-gauge wood grain-embossed steel facing. Its elegant design features tongue and groove meeting rails for enhanced strength and weather resistance. The door comes with ½” Extira trim/overlay bonded to the facing for a seamless look.
You can choose from different window options, with ⅛” DSB (standard) windows providing privacy while allowing natural light. The door is insulated with CFC-free expanded polystyrene, offering an R-value of 10.25 for energy efficiency. With customizable dimensions, section widths are available in 1-inch increments up to 20 feet wide, and door heights are available in 3-inch increments up to 16 feet. The 24-gauge option is fire-rated and includes insulated 1-pane tempered glass for added safety.

Construction
The garage door is equipped with a 2” industrial grade galvanized track system, featuring angle-mounted verticals and horizontals. It comes with 2LC-6” low headroom clearance as standard, while the 2SC-15” radius is available for standard lift depending on overhead clearance and section height. There is also an option for a 3” track.
For smooth operation, the door hinges are single-end 11 gauge graduated galvanized for single cars under 12’ wide and double-end 11 gauge graduated galvanized for double cars 12’ wide and over. The rollers are 2” nylon 10 ball-bearing commercial, with short stems for single cars and long stems for double cars.
To ensure structural integrity, the door is equipped with 3” galvanized struts for all single and double-wide doors. The counterbalance system includes 10,000 cycle torsion springs and galvanized aircraft cables with a minimum 8-to-1 safety factor. Doors under 650 pounds have an 11 gauge tube, while doors 650 pounds and over have a solid core steel shaft (keyed) and are coupled if exceeding 151” in length.
The door can be operated manually with a push-up mechanism as standard, though electric operation is recommended for the best possible operation.
